Local professionals brainstorm and network at Westbury event
The African American Small Business Foundation hosted a mixer for several professionals from across the area on April 16 at Post 270 Restaurant in Westbury.
According to a news release about the event, the gathering allowed for discussions and the exchange of ideas among all of the attendees.
The event was part of a collaboration among several organizations, including the Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce and 100 Black Men of Eastern New York.
"This is about creating rooms where deals happen, partnerships are formed, and access becomes real," said Phil Andrews, President of the African American Small Business Foundation.
Andrews added in a statement to Island Edge Business News, "Events such as Upscale Social Networking Event After Hours at Post 270 Restaurant on Long Island offered an opportunity to positively impact this generation and future generations."
Rose Ward, Vice President Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce, said the event provided new opportunities for those in attendance.
"It sparked new opportunities for small business, finance, insurance, and real estate leaders," said Ward.
